Better Origin’s X1 insect farm converts food waste into animal feed by mimicking nature’s own solution: insect bioconversion.

Inside the unit, the waste is consumed by black soldier flies, which then provide nutrient-rich food for animals. This sustainable alternative makes for healthier, happier animals and greater yields.

We are working with farmers, retailers, and food producers to roll out this technology in the UK and beyond. Our insect farms will help secure the future of food as they reduce food waste.

Solid Carbon Storage removed CO2 from the atmosphere and stores it underground, a bit like un-coal mining. It reverses the damage caused to the environment by burning fossil fuels and is one of the very few companies actually removing and storing permanently the CO2. It does this with help from trees by buying charcoal from sustainable ethical suppliers and storing it in a Yorkshire stone quarry.
The whole process is controlled with standards and uses bar codes for traceability of the charcoal from sourcing to storage - the founder was previously CEO of a medical device company. It is a not-for-profit company, trading since Dec 2017. It is a startup having stored 27 TonsCO2e to date.
